At Stray Possum Lodge we offer Great Barrier Island’s most affordable retreat in our self-contained chalets. Fully made up for 6 from bedding and bathmats to pots, pans and crockery, move in and make yourself at home and relax amongst the trees. Each self-catering accommodation unit has a double and single bed upstairs and a single bed and set of bunks downstairs.
Retreat into our peaceful paradise and escape. The acreage here is large with native forest encircling the grassed areas, which surround the campground, backpacker lodge, self-contained chalets and licensed restaurant. Sit back and watch the Kaka, Tui, Kingfisher, Wood Pigeon and other native birds, or wander up, sit on the deck or in the bar, enjoy the harbour view and a beer, glass of wine or meal from our varied menu.
Self-contained chalets are the perfect self catering accommodation and cost $200.00 for a twin per night and $40.00 for additional beds.
Pickup from Great Barrier Island’s Tryphena wharf or Claris airport by arrangement, with transport available daily to beaches, walking tracks and shops.
